Dear Cultivator:

It is cannabis cultivation license renewal time! And this year, to make the application process quicker and easier, the application can be filled out and submitted electronically. Instructions for preparing and submitting the application, required attachments, and the payment of fees are found below

The electronic application is similar to the 2019 renewal application. However, the documents that you submitted with your 2019 application must be updated and submitted with your 2020 license renewal application. Please note, if you are a tenant and your lease has expired since your 2019 renewal application was submitted, you must provide an updated signed lease agreement, as well as required information for the property owner. In addition, this year we are requiring that applicants who do not own the property on which they cultivate, to submit a notarized property owner’s statement of consent to operate a cannabis cultivation business on the property.

In order to have your license issued by January 1, 2020, the electronic application and application renewal fee must be received by October 15, 2019. If you need assistance in filling out the electronic application and uploading the necessary attachments, we have a computer available at the Cannabis Task Force for your use and we can assist you with the application process. To make an appointment for this assistance, please contact Hoa Tan at 530-406-4806 or hoa.tan@yolocounty.org.

Once you have submitted your application, an application renewal fee of $4,158 must be paid. We currently don’t have the ability to accept the application renewal fee payments on line. However, we are looking into this and will let you know if this option becomes available. In the meantime, the fee must be paid at the Department of Community Services, 292 West Beamer Street, Woodland. To make an appointment to pay your application renewal fee, please contact Christina Gonzalez at 530-666-8647 or Christina.gonzalez@yolocounty.org. Please note, your application will not be processed until the application renewal fee has been paid.

Lastly, please note that in order to receive your 2020 cultivation license, you must be in good standing with the Yolo County Tax Collector reflecting that you are current with your Measure K cannabis tax payments. If you have any questions regarding your tax status, please contact Edward Burnham at 530-666-8212 or edward.burnham@yolocounty.org.

Please feel free to contact Hoa or me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Susan Strachan
Cannabis Policy and Enforcement Manager
