Dear Cultivator,
Welcome to the annual cannabis cultivation license renewal page. The annual license is valid from April 1 of the year the license is issued to March 31 of the following year. With this timeframe, the 2024 license renewal application and application fee of $3,786.00 will be due no later than January 31, 2024. Instructions for preparing and submitting the application, required attachments, and the payment of fees are included below.
The current electronic application is similar to previous years renewal application. However, the documents you submitted with your previous year's application must be updated and submitted with your 2024 license renewal application. Please note, if you are a tenant and your lease has expired since your 2023 renewal application was submitted, you must provide an updated signed lease agreement, as well as the required information for the property owner. In addition, we require applicants who do not own the property on which they cultivate, to submit a notarized property owner’s statement of consent to operate a cannabis cultivation business on the property.
In order to have your license issued by April 1, 2024, the electronic application and $3,786.00 application renewal fee must be received no later than January 31, 2024. If you need assistance in filling out the electronic application and uploading the necessary attachments, we have a computer available at the Cannabis Unit office for your use and we can assist you with the application process. To make an appointment for this assistance, please contact the Cannabis Unit at 530-406-4800.
Once you have submitted your application, the $3,786.00 application renewal fee must be paid. Unfortunately, payments cannot be made on-line and must be paid at the Department of Community Services, 292 West Beamer Street, Woodland. To make an appointment to pay your application renewal fee, please contact Nallely Castro at 530-406-8647 or Nallely.Castro@yolocounty.org. Please note, your application will not be processed until the application renewal fee has been paid.
Lastly, please note that in order to receive your 2024 cultivation license, you must be in good standing with the Yolo County Tax Collector reflecting that you are current with your Measure K cannabis tax payments. If you have any questions regarding your tax status, please contact Corina Macias at 530-666-8190 ext 9393 or Corina.Macias@yolocounty.org.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
April Meneghetti
